Date: 2020-07-18 08:46 pm (UTC)and it sounded like the guy had a rough time of it, too. was it always like that in the past? she'd like to think not, but she remembers reading about the lives of the genuinely poor in Edwardian England. so maybe it was and would always be like that, only it was easier to hide in the "modern" world.
and who wouldn't love a man after a statement like that? it's....well, it's understandable]
