willing_sheath: (not sure what to think yet)

It has been a week since the incident at the window. Himura-san has relaxed around me considerably. I don't know that it is because he has simply accepted the fact that I refuse to leave or if it is because I did not shrink away from him that time. I have continued to watch from my place among the inn staff and my earlier thoughts of the other men seeing him as a weapon are not so far off. They will try now and then to interact but his demeanor is almost as off-putting as mine, but where my directness merely causes discomfort and confusion his is met with fear. It is as though they think he might harm them if they say the wrong thing. It makes me wonder if they are blind to think that he would, or perhaps it is a matter of rumor taking the place of reality. The only actual violence I have seen from him has been in self defense or toward whoever's name is inside the black envelopes delivered by Izuka-san.

But most people are blind. Most believe what they wish to believe and refuse to look further than the surface.
