[She was probably going to kill him with these inadvertent read receipts, but she wasn't going to reply easily to this, not without thinking carefully.]

[It was true that she needed to contract again. She had just finished moving back to the Down (her belongings could still fit into two paper bags...) and she did not want to stay there long. Especially not with what had happened in North Park. The Down was more dangerous than the Up by far--though apparently now the Up could be just as treacherous...]

[But that wasn't a good reason to rush into a contract. She had been immensely lucky with Holmes, especially given the manner in which the contract had been made. But this was... tricky. From what she had seen herself Okita was a good man. A kind man. And she didn't think he deserved to be lied to or deceived, and in a way every interaction they had was a deception on her part. But then there was the question of what he would do if she simply told him the truth of things.]

It is not a good idea to rush into a contract, but I would be willing to at least discuss it.

But I guarantee there are better people to contract with here than me.

( there's a sigh at the message seen so he decides to make some tea while waiting for an answer. maybe he was too straight-forward to ask, maybe he should have thought first about how to tell her, but no... he certainly isn't good at thinking. tomoe is a modest and educated woman, only... there's something dark he can sense in her aura, the disguise above a secret causing that much sadness so difficult to hide no matter how hard she tries.

souji feels confused by losing himself into her eyes. that confusion irritates him a lot.

the vibration sounds again – and what he reads makes him scowl somewhat without noticing himself. reminds him when kohana rejected his proposal to become her "danna" of sorts, so that she could see her little daughter. of course, this is different: intimacy is involved between them, to some extent. )

[She reads the message over and over again. What he is describing is all but ideal for her. Being a kept woman. She huffed at the thought. It didn't sit well with her. She would not only be deceiving him but using him then. The same message will flash repeatedly if he is watching his phone 'Himura.Tomoe is typing a message'. If everything she typed actually came through it would be a book...]

I am not ashamed of things that occurred in a dream. I have more than enough to be ashamed of in my waking hours. There is no reason to avoid each other. [At least in regards to a wet dream. She had plenty of other reasons, but she wasn't about to name those.]

[The next part is infinitely more difficult for her to address, if for nothing else, the confusing emotions that went along with it.]

I will not agree to exclusivity. I need to be allowed to fill my quota however I see fit. I do have someone that I regularly fill my quota with. I will not abandon him if he needs me. I have others who I would help if the need arose as well.

[There is a pause as she debates the next bit]

( seeing how she keeps typing her reply over and over and over is somewhat annoying. he's not the sort who waits for a delayed answer when it's better done in person.

[Better get used to it, buddy. Especially if you're intending to contract with her. She likes the text option because it allows her to carefully word things to exactly what she wants. But once it is in writing it is permanent and can't be recalled, so it's a double edged sword.]

Perhaps we should meet to discuss a contract further. There are generalized contracts but I have heard it is best to be specific.
